Roger Mynors Swinfen Eady, 3rd Baron Swinfen (born
14 December 1938 ) is a British peer. He is one of the ninetyhereditary peer s elected to remain in theHouse of Lords after the passing of theHouse of Lords Act 1999 .The son of the 2nd Baron Swinfen, he succeeded to his father's title in 1977. Swinfen Eady was educated at
Westminster School and at theRoyal Military Academy, Sandhurst , and served then inThe Royal Scots reaching the rank ofLieutenant .Swinfen Eady is president of the
South East Region British Sports Association for the Disabled and trustee of theSwinfen Charitable Trust . Since 1983, he is a Fellow of theIndustry and Parliament Trust and since 1988, he is patron of theDisablement Income Group . In 1996, he was further patron ofLabrador Rescue South East . Between 1983 and 1997, Swinfen Eady was member of theDirect Mail Services Standards Board . In 2001, he became an Honorary Research Fellow in the Centre for Online Health of theUniversity of Queensland . He is also a Liveryman of theWorshipful Company of Drapers .Since 1962, he has been married to Patricia Anne Blackmore. They have three daughters and a son.
