- New York Assembly Bill 02787
-
New York Assembly Bill 02787 (A02787) is a law proposed by Brian Kolb in the New York State Assembly. The law blocks the sale of violent or sexually explicit video games to minors, however what makes it unique in video gaming legislative attempts is that it also will enable the courts to confiscate unrated video games and compel retailers to make copies of a game available for review by parents prior to purchase.
As of 27 March 2008 the bill was held for consideration in the Consumer Affairs and Protection Committee. If passed, the bill would take effect the first 1 November following passage.
