Saxa (born Lionel Martin in 1930, Kingston, Jamaica, then a colony of the United Kingdom) is a saxophonist, famous for having performed with the 1980s British ska band The Beat. He has also played with many early reggae stars, such as Laurel Aitken, Prince Buster, and Desmond Dekker. [English Beat overview, Chris Woodstra, "allmusic.com", Retrieved April 16 2008]

From 1990 to 1995, Saxa played in The International Beat with musicians Tony Beet and members of The Beat (Everett Morton) and General Public (Mickey Billingham), and Dexy's Midnight Runners and poet Louie Campbell.

He is now retired.
