Grafton High School is a public high school located in Grafton, an unincorporated section of York County, Virginia. It is part of the York County School Division. The school opened on September 3, 1996 and shares a facility with Grafton Middle School, the only shared facility of this type in the Hampton Roads area. Athletic teams compete in the Virginia High School League's AA Bay Rivers, District, and in Region I. Grafton High School was awarded a silver medal by U.S. News and World Report in the 2008 America’s Best High Schools search.

Athletics

Grafton High fields varsity teams in these sports:The 2002 field hockey team won Grafton's only AA state team title. Grafton has individual AA state champions in Boys Indoor Track (2007), Girls Outdoor Track (2008), Girls Swimming, Boys Tennis (2004,2005,2006), and Wrestling (2005,2008).cite web

Band

Grafton High School has three bands: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. Grafton also has a Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble. Each band consistently receives Superior Ratings at competitions. The school also has a marching band and color guard that consists of over 200 members.
