John Strahan orWilliam Halfpenny , [cite book |last=Burrough |first=THB |authorlink= |coauthors= |title=Bristol |year=1970 |publisher=Studio Vista |location=London |isbn=0289798043 ] with plasterwork byThomas Paty , in 1742 as a privatechapel for the local manor house, Redland court which is nowRedland High School , though it was notconsecrated until 1790. It eventually became theparish church when the parish of Redland was separated fromWestbury-on-Trym in 1942 and, unusually, has no dedication to apatron saint . It is a Grade Ilisted building .
