Mount Skarshovden (coord|71|47|S|11|38|E|) is a rounded
mountain , 2,830 m, surmounting the west side ofHovdeskar Gap in theHumboldt Mountains ofQueen Maud Land . It was discovered and photographed by theGerman Antarctic Expedition , 1938-39, mapped by Norway from air photos and surveys byNorwegian Antarctic Expedition , 1956-60, and named Skarshovden ("the gap mountain").
