- Bigourdan Fjord
Bigourdan Fjord (coord|67|33|S|67|23|W|) is a
sound , 12 miles (19 km) long in an east-west direction and averaging 2 miles (3.2 km) wide, lying betweenPourquoi Pas Island and the southwest part ofArrowsmith Peninsula , along the west coast ofGraham Land . It was discovered by theFrench Antarctic Expedition , 1908-10, underCharcot , and named by him forGuillaume Bigourdan , noted French astronomer. It was roughly surveyed by theBritish Graham Land Expedition (BGLE), 1934-37, underRymill , and resurveyed by theFalkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS), 1948-50.
