Sturminster Marshall is a village and civil parish in east Dorset in England, situated on the River Stour between Blandford Forum and Poole. The parish has a population of 1,895 (as of the 2001 census) and includes the village of Almer (coord|50.78|N|2.12|W) west of Sturminster Marshall, near Winterborne Zelston. Sturminster Marshall has a playing field with a children's playground in one corner. Nearby is the Memorial Hall which offers many different events as well as weekly badminton, Guides, Brownies, Beavers and other societies. There is also an old school hall where the Cubs and Scouts meet regularly.

There are many walks around the village including the Stour Valley Way, which follows the Stour right from the source to the sea.

The church is on the edge of the village with Sunday morning worship at 9.30 am most Sundays. The church vicar is Dr A. Stewart-Sykes. The village has two pubs actually in the village, the Red Lion and the Churchill Arms with the Black Horse on the outskirts.
