Mahon went to Down High Grammar School,
Downpatrick . Whilst playing rugby, he broke his leg in two places, causing him to stay at home for 8 months. It was then he taught himself how to play the guitar. Upon leaving Down High, he studied music atQueens University Belfast , where he met Cormac Neeson, Mickey Waters and James Heatley. They would then go on to form The Answer in 2001. Previously, Mahon and Waters had formed a band called Red House.External links
