"'Jovan" ("Johan Roms") (born
1981 ) is a Finnishpop singer , who began his career as a child singer.His first published song was "Ankkalinnan lambada", recorded in
1988 for a local radio station, when Jovan, which back then was known by his Finnish nickname Juha, was only 8 years old. As a child Jovan participated in various song contests. At1993 he was the audience's favorite in "SongBird (Laululintu)" contest in Finland. Right after that he participated in one of the most famous programs in Finnish TV history, Tenavatähti, with a song he composed himself - "Rakkauden väriloisto". He made his way to the grand final of the contest, and spent the following years touring around Finland. In1994 -1997 he was also playing lead roles in several musical productions, such asThe Sound of Music (Friedrich) andPippi Longstocking (Tommy), etc. In1994 Jovan started the recordings of what would have become his first album,Nouskaa lentoon . The album was half finished, but the recordings were stopped as Jovan's voice began to change. In1996 Jovan had a few TV appearances with the songs "Emptiness/Cold rain". Jovan has also composed songs for other artists, such asFunky (Lithuanian pop group) andMilana , who participated inEurovision preselection in Lithuania with Jovan's songEternal love in2004 and scored a top ten hit in Lithuania with the song's Lithuanian version.After having lived in
Mexico ,Spain andLithuania , Jovan returned to Finland. He is currently located in the city ofTurku and currently working with new music.ee also
