enior Class Traditions

Pearl River High School has a few notable, long-standing events that make it unique, especially for its gradutating seniors.
*The senior class of PRHS makes an annual visit to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as a senior class trip. This takes place in the fall of the class' graduating year.
*In addition, the senior class is given the opportunity to "paint the wall." Every year, students take the liberty of creating a new design for a wall on the high school's tennis court, and as a class put the design into action by taking a few days before graduation to paint their ideas on the wall. Typically, the entire class pitches in to help and then signs their names on the wall somewhere. This wall serves as a legacy for an entire year after the class' graduation until it is replaced with the artwork of the next year's graduating seniors. A picture of the most recent graduating class' wall design can be seen at [http://www.pearlriver.k12.ny.us/hs/ Pearl River High School's main website] .
*Parents also help to organize one final send-off for the senior class known as "Project Graduation." Seniors have a 'lock-in' the night of graduation in Pearl River's gymnasiums and cafeteria. There is catered food and entertainment throughout the night usually including a hypnotist, DJ, and recreational equipment. It is a night of fun for the students after they celebrate their commencement, and a chance to sign year books, have fun, and say goodbye.
