Barrie Dunsmore is a journalist who covered foreign affairs for ABC News for 30 years. He was a Fellow at the
Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy at theJohn F. Kennedy School of Government atHarvard University and received the School of Foreign Service atGeorgetown University 's Edward Weintal Prize in 1995. He now lives in Charlotte, Vermont, and writes a Sunday column for theRutland Herald .Barrie began his career with Toronto's CFTO-TV Channel 9/Cable 8 and their award-winning (RTNDA Canada) WorldBeat News under the direction of news executives Charles Templeton and Ted Stuebing. Other notables of the era at CFTO were Vic Phillips and Wayne Dayton.
