Jay Meetze

Jay Meetze (born August 2, 1973, Flint, Michigan) is an American conductor. Before receiving his MM in orchestral conducting at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, he studied at Michigan State University and Mott Community College. His conducting lessons were under Gustav Meier, Peter Oundjian and Gerhard Samuel. He made his professional debut in 1992 and has conducted opera and orchestral performances across the country. Since founding Opera Company of Brooklyn, (OCB) in 2000 and leading as the Principal Conductor and Artistic Director, the international profile of the opera company was developed. In 2006, he made his first recording with OCB on Albany Records and received critical acclaim from Opera News in the one act operas for chamber orchestra of composer Thomas Pasatieri.
