Paige went professional in 1984 as a sixth round selection of the New York Jets. He led the Jets in touchdowns (10) as a rookie starter. After nine years of starting for the Jets, Lions and Dolphins, he retired at the age of 30.Paige’s football career began at
DeMatha Catholic High School inMaryland , where he would later be elected into the school’s Hall of Fame. He then donned the Chicago maroon and burnt orange atVirginia Tech .
