Red-tail dwarf puffers "Carinotetraodon irrubesco" are small (up to 4.5 cm) freshwater pufferfish found only in the lower Banjuasin basin in South Sumatra and the Sambas River in West Kalimantan where they live in murky, acidic water amongst submerged vegetation alongside rasboras, pipefish, halfbeaks, and gobies.
