Emilio Lombardi (1881-1956) was a Maltese
author . At the age of 15 years Lombardi started to write stories, and at the age of 19 years he published his first book. He wrote non-fiction, but he is best remembered for hisnovel s. Lombardi wrote the novels to teach people, so his books are good for all the family, from children to adults.In that era the
Maltese language was not written in today's format. After his death, the novels of Lombardi were republished and re-edited into modern Maltese. He wrote for more than 50 years, from 1896 until 1946. Lombardi was a modest writer, and he described his work as "ix-xogħol miżeru tiegħi" ("my miserable work").
