Cybersound

Cybersound

Cybersound was a combination MIDI instrument set and software driver used by many Sega Saturn games such as NiGHTS into Dreams..., Christmas NiGHTS, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dragon Force and Sakura Taisen. A version was also used on other platforms such as the PC and Macintosh. It was also used on certain PlayStation games like Tomba! and Discworld.

Since the samples are contained within the software itself for subsequent digital playback, the mechanics could also be likened to that of an Amiga music module or a software-driven wavetable like those currently being offered by Yamaha. The company that developed Cybersound, InVision Interactive, is now out of business, leaving Cybersound unsupported.
