Amakhosi Stadium is the future home venue of South African
football (soccer) clubKaizer Chiefs .Kaizer Chiefs will become the first team inSouth Africa to own their ownstadium when the 55,000 All-Seater Amakhosi Stadium is completed in April2010 . TheAmakhosi have used no less than 9stadiums inJohannesburg as their home-ground. The newstadium which is being developed at a cost of R1.2 billion will be part of a greatersports precinct being developed which lies 40km West ofJohannesburg .The Amakhosi Stadium will be ready in April
2010 , while the rest of thecomplex , which will includecricket and rugbystadiums , asports hotel and a retailshopping centre — specializing insports equipment — will be developed at a later stage.The
Gauteng Provincial Government will develop otherinfrastructures around thestadium such asroad ,rail and generalpublic access to thestadium .The Amakhosi Stadium Precinct will also become the home of the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Programme with the young Chiefs players taking up residency in June
2010 . The Amakhosi Stadium will have state of the art media facilities with a press room accommodating more than a hundred members of the media. It will also have more than 195 private executive suites and special access and viewing areas forAmakhosi fans withdisabilities .The
stadium plans include aparking area housing 3000 cars and will be built with specialparking facilities forbuses andtaxis to ensure that thetraffic flow in and out of the area is smooth.The
stadium developers have set time lines for theAmakhosi stadium that should open its doors to the public in June2010 .External links
