The United States Air Force's 618th Tanker Airlift Control Center (TACC) is an Air Mobility Command unit located at Scott AFB, Illinois. The TACC is the Air Mobility Command hub for planning and directing tanker and transport aircraft operations around the world.

Mission

The 618th TACC is the global air operations center responsible for centralized command and control of Air Force and commercial contract air mobility assets, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It plans, schedules and tracks tanker, airlift and aeromedical evacuation aircraft worldwide to efficiently and effectively accomplish Air Mobility Command's Global Reach mission. The organization is capable of seamlessly transitioning from day-to-day operations to contingency support or disaster relief.

History

When the TACC stood up on 1 April 1992, it brought together adiversity of functions, systems, and people never before assembled in asingle organization. With the standup of the Air Mobility Command(AMC) in June 1992, the TACC became the single point of contact forits customers and suppliers in an effort to efficiently and effectivelyaccomplish AMC’s Global Reach mission for the employment of alltanker/airlift missions. Since its reassignment from HQ AMC toEighteenth Air Force effective 1 October 2003, the TACC hascontinued to be the hub for planning, scheduling, tasking, and executingAmerica's mobility forces around the world.The TACC consists of 8 directorates with over 900people, and we are proud of our “Total Force” family. We are abenchmark organization with over 144 Reserve Individual MobilizationAugmentees (IMA). The entire air mobility team strives for excellenceas seen daily in lives impacted and mission successes to build a strongernational defense
