Anthony joined the
Royal Hong Kong Police Force asConstable in1969 and was promoted toInspector within 5 years of his service. He retired in2002 after 33 years of distinguished service reaching the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police. He was awarded with aPolice Meritorious Service Medal (PMSM) by theHong Kong Government in 2000.couting
Anthony joined Scouting as a
Senior Scout in1962 and became aSenior Scout Leader in1965 . In1975 he was appointedDistrict Commissioner and in1976 East Kowloon Regional Headquarters Commissioner for SeaScouting . In1978 Anthony was responsible for the setting up of a newSea Scout Activities Centre at aninlet inHebe Haven which he brought into fruition in1984 . It becomes the most well equipped and well managed Sea Activities Centre for youth groups in Hong Kong.He was appointed as Regional Commissioner of East Kowloon Region in
1984 . A post he held for the next 17 years which saw the repaid expansion of the Region with healthy growth of membership under his able Leadership.Almost twenty years later in
2002 , he was also single handedly responsible for securing donation and fund raising for the construction of the new 10.7 metre Sea Scout flagship – “Brown Sea Island ” for theSea Scout s of Hong Kong. Since 2002 he is anAssistant Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Hong Kong in charge of Projects. His current project is for the construction and setting up of theLeadership Training Institute situated in a beautiful peninsular directly opposite the Sea Scout Activity Centre in Hebe Haven. Mr. Chan is a member of the Asia Pacific Region (APR) Scout Profile Sub committee since2004 . Mr Chan was appointed Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Hong Kong in November 2007 by the Chief Scout and Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administration Region, Peoples Republic of China.ee also
