Dame Josephine Williams, DBE (b. July 8, 1948) is the Chief Executive of Mencap, the UK's leading learning disability charity, which was established in 1946.
Mencap
Mencap works with people with a learning disability and their families and carers. Mencap also helps people with a learning disability to live their lives in ways that they choose, and in a home that they choose, and provides education services and help people into work.
Knighthood
Mrs. Josephine Williams, Mencap's Chief Executive, a resident of Chester, Cheshire, England was created a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2007 New Years Honours for her services to people with learning disabilities and may be styled as Dame Josephine Williams.
