James Turman Barron is an American journalist who writes for "The New York Times".

He is a 1977 graduate of Princeton University and was a stringer for the "Times" while in college.

Personal

Barron is the son of James Pressley Barron (1920-2006), a World War II U.S. Army veteran and an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency who received the Intelligence Commendation medal upon his retirement in 1985 ["Barron, James Pressley." "The New York Times", 24 November 2006.] , and Leirona I. Barron, a former assistant principal of Thomas Jefferson Junior High School in Arlington, Va.

Barron is married to Dr. Jane-Iris Farhi, a cardiologist ["WEDDINGS: Jane-Iris Farhi And James Barron." "The New York Times", 2 April 1995.] .
