The following is a complete chronology of the various line-ups of alternative rock music group Red Hot Chili Peppers. Red Hot Chili Peppers (originally "Tony Flow and the Miraculous Masters of Mayhem" [ Kiedis, Anthony; Sloman, Larry. "Scar Tissue". Hyperion, 2004, ISBN 1-4013-0101-0 p. 105] ) formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, California, by several Fairfax High School alumni, and released their first album in 1984. The band's first highly successful album, "Mother's Milk", was released in 1989. "Give It Away", a song on the album, was the band's first Grammy winner.
