Salma Akhter is a Bangladeshi singer. She is the winner of the second installment of "CloseUp1 Tomakei Khujchhe Bangladesh", a musical talent hunt competition analogous to "American Idol" that is broadcast on the Bangladeshi channel NTV. She sings Fakir Lalon Shah’s songs. Her first album, Bandhu Aiyo Aiyo has been released.

Personal life

Salma Akhter was the youngest of all contestants in this competition. She is a very simple girl from a very poor family and she has been brought up in a small village in Kushtia. She generally likes to sing Fakir Lalon Shah’s songs. She didn’t learn music. Salma has taken Lalon as her inspiration.Fact|date=October 2008
