Central Village (06332) is a
village in the Town of Plainfield located inWindham County, Connecticut . Central Village encompasses approximately eight square miles and is home to roughly 2,500 residents. Predominantly aresidential community , Central Village does contain somelight industry . TheQuinebaug Valley Trout Hatchery is located there. This closedaquaculture facility is one of the largest hatcheries east of theMississippi River , producing 600,000 trout annually.Fact|date=January 2008Connecticut Route 12 andConnecticut Turnpike (I-395) both run North and South through the Town of Plainfield. CT-12 bisects Central Village, and is the village's major thoroughfare. Central Village is serviced by Exit 89 off of I-395. first responder ,hazardous materials andwater rescue services. The fire company was organized in 1913 after a devastating fire at the Central Hotel.
