Its administrative seat and largest town isLeżajsk , which lies convert|41|km|mi|0 north-east of the regional capitalRzeszów . The only other town in the county isNowa Sarzyna , lying convert|11|km|mi|0|abbr=on north-west of Leżajsk.The county covers an area of convert|583.01|km2|sqmi|1. As of 2006 its total population is 69,235, out of which the population of Leżajsk is 14,275, that of Nowa Sarzyna is 6,308, and the rural population is 48,652.
