May 6 ,1903 -November 7 ,1938 ), was the youngest son ofGrand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich of Russia and his wife Grand Duchess Elizaveta MavrikievnaFollowing the
Russian Revolution of 1917 , he escaped to Sweden in October 1918 with his mother, younger sisterPrincess Vera Konstantinovna of Russia , and niece and nephew aboard the Swedish ship "Angermanland". Pavlovsk throughout the war, the chaotic rule of theProvisional Government , and after theOctober Revolution . In the fall of 1918, they were permitted by theBolsheviks to be taken by ship toSweden (on the Ångermanland, viaTallinn toHelsinki and viaMariehamn toStockholm ), at the invitation of the Swedish queen.At
Stockholm harbor they met prince Gustaf Adolf who took them to the royal palace. Elizaveta Mavrikievna and Vera and Georgi lived for the next two years inSweden , first inStockholm then inSaltsjöbaden ; but Sweden was too expensive for them so they moved first toBelgium by invitation ofAlbert I of Belgium , and then toGermany , settling inAltenburg where they lived 30 years, except for a couple of years inEngland . Elizaveta died of cancer on the 24th of March 1927 inLeipzig .Georgi, who never married, became a successful
