'Rusty' Russ attended the
University of Michigan , where he was a member of the Michigan Cheer team (which was all male at the time).Career
Russ' best known role is probably that as
Alan Matthews ,Cory Matthews 's father on the sitcom "Boy Meets World ".He also played the part of
United States Air Force test pilot "Slick" Goodlin in the 1983 film "The Right Stuff". He played the role of Nick Bartkowski inJim Kouf 's comedy "Disorganized Crime "; Danny and Derek Vinyard's father in "American History X ". He appeared in two popular Michael Mann projects: "Miami Vice " and "Crime Story".
