"Heavenly Shades of Night are Falling" is the last and shortest of the five interconnected novellas collected in "Hearts in Atlantis" by Stephen King.
Bobby Garfield, as a boy main character of the first and largest story 'Low Men in Yellow Coats' (which tells the story filmed under the title 'Hearts in Atlantis'), returns to his hometown for the burial of his childhood friend Sully-John. He meets his very first love Carol, who he has believed dead for many years. Magically, his old baseball glove is sent back to him by his grandfatherly friend Ted Brautigan, the breaker of 'The Dark Tower 7', who tried to flee from the low men in episode 1.
The book's title is a reference to The Platters' 1958 hit single, "Twilight Time," in which the first line used "Heavenly shades of night are falling; it's twilight time...".
