PoliticalDerby is a Washington DC-based independent political website founded in 2005 by Jason F. Wright. The site creates Power Rankings, which rank announced and rumored candidates for the US presidency by political party. The rankings reflect the likelihood of any given candidate being nominated and then elected President of the United States. The rankings are compiled by the Editor using "wire reports, polls, campaign staffer scuttlebutt and confidential tips."

The site promotes political commentary with an edge, with posters and readers alike encouraged to blend humor with their insights.

The site's political commentary has been featured in many large media outlets, including The Washington Times, FOX News Channel, Lars Larson Show, and The Gill Report. Jason Wright began making regular appearances on FNC's Fox & Friends to offer Power Rankings updates beginning in late 2006.
