Renault Ventoux engine

Renault Ventoux engine

The Ventoux is a very economic engine designed by Renault for the Renault 4CV car and lately improved for the Renault Dauphine.

Willys-Overland do Brasil produced this engine on Brazil along with many cars it also licensed from Renault, from 1959 until 1967 when Ford bought the company.

Ford continued the production of this engine until 1983, using it on the Ford Corcel (a derivation from the Renault 12). Later that year this engine spawned an unexpected sequel, named CHT - an improved design by Ford do Brasil.

On other hand, on Europe, Renault continued improving this engine, resulting on the also economic and reliable Renault Cléon engine.
