Yaroun (also spelled Yarun and in Arabic يارون) is a Lebanese village located in the Caza of Bint Jbeil in the Nabatiye Governorate in Lebanon.

Geography

Yaroun occupies a hill with elevation ranging from 750 to 800 meters above sea level. The main agricultural products of Yaroun are olive and tobacco.Yaroun has many beautiful houses, most of their owners reside in the United States of America, Australia and Colombia. It is known as a rich man's village

Yaroun lies in the border with Israel, which is all of the southern part of the village. It overlooks villages like Avivim, Dovev and Yir'on in the Israeli part of the border.

The people of Yaroun are Lebanese and are followers of the Greek Catholic Church and Shia Islam.There are many surnames in Yaroun, such as Chahine, Ayoub, Reda, Saab, Khamis, Joamma, Fardous, Mourad, Ghasham, Matar, Jaafar, Najjar, Saleh , Farhat, Salloum, Kalouch, Haddad, Farah, Ajaka, Nasser, Hanna, Badine, Sara, Habambu, Hijazi, Badin,tehfe and many more.

In July 2006, Yaroun, like other villages that string Lebanon's southern border, such as Ain Ebel, Debel, Qaouzah, and Rmaich, was caught in the crossfire of Hezbollah and the Israeli army.
