Kachari (or Cachari) is a Tibeto-Burman language spoken by about 59,000 people (as of 1997cite book |author=Gordon, Raymond G., Jr. (ed.) |year=2005 |chapter= [http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=xac Kachari] |title=Ethnologue: Languages of the World, Fifteenth edition |location=Dallas, Tex. |publisher=SIL International] ) in Assam, India.

Less than 30% of the Kachari people speak the Kachari language as their mother tongue. Most grow up speaking Assamese instead.
