The 2000 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament took place from March 9-12, 2000 in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Charlotte Coliseum. Duke won the tournament for the second year in a row. They defeated Maryland in the championship game. The championship game pitted the #1 and #2 seeds against each other for the second year in a row.

North Carolina struggled through the regular season, and disappointingly lost to in-state rival Wake Forest in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament. However, their season would end on a positive note. The Tar Heels, coached by Bill Guthridge went to the Final Four for the third time in four years, before losing to Florida. Jason Williams of Duke was the tournament mvp.
