The United States and Mexico football rivalry is a competitive sports rivalry that exists between the national football teams of both countries. A total of 55 matches have been played between the two countries with Mexico leading the series.
The rivalry is often showcased in major tournaments such as the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Copa América, and even the World Cup. Mexico has never lost to the United States at home with a record of 22-0-1. Mexico has won on U.S. soil 6 times, with a record of 6-9-12, but has not won there since 1999. On neutral territory, the United States lead 3-2. In addition, the lone World Cup match between the two countries (a round of 16 meeting at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Jeonju, South Korea) resulted in a 2-0 victory for the United States.
Mexico leads the overall series with 30 wins, 10 draws, and 15 losses.
