- Creative Ghetto
Creative Ghetto is a project whose purpose is to build bridges between the creative industries and people with immigrant background.
The project is funded by The European Social Fund. The underlying idea for the project is that immigrants and people with an immigrant background have cultural insights, which the creative industries and the communication business can use better by hiring more people with immigrant backgrounds.
The project started July 31. 2006 in Norrebro, Copenhagen, Denmark. Creative Ghetto was originated and is currently directed by Pernille Skov and Sebastian Overgaard, who both have a past in the creative industries. Currently there are 10 participants in the project.
The project runs until March 10 2007. Since the beginning of the project, the participants have been given an intensive course in communication and creative development. Amongst others, Creative Ghetto has worked with The Danish Commercial and Relation Bureau’s Union and Learning Lab Denmark, a part of Denmark’s Pedagogical University. The Participants have during the project created solutions for The Danish National Radio and Television, The Royal Danish Theatre, TV3, Grey, Bates, Yellow Ducks, Outbox, På Gaden, TELE2 and Ungdommens Uddannelsesvejledning (Youth Career Guidance) under the Municipality of Copenhagen. The project has also received help from various professionals within the creative industries in Copenhagen – amongst others Henrik Byager, Sebastian Dorset, Thomas Levin, Mads Byder, Claus Letord, Tom Lundquist, Morten Holm Petersen, Nikolai Sonne and Mike Lippert.
