radio station located inBoise, Idaho , broadcasting on 670 AM and is under ownership ofCitadel Broadcasting . KBOI airs news/talk programming. With a strong 50,000-watt signal, KBOI can be heard east to west from the Rocky Mountains to the Cascades and north to south from Seattle to southern California.The KBOI morning show, "Idaho's First Morning News/Idaho Talks Live" is anchored by Paul J. Schneider and Chris Walton. Schneider, an Illinois native who moved to Idaho as a teen with his parents and brother, has been a KBOI morning host since 1976. Walton, a native of Twin Falls, Idaho, joined the program in 2001, moving from Citadel-owned classic rock station KKGL. The KBOI morning newscaster is station news director Ken Weaver. The radio program is simulcast on local Fox television station KTRV from 8am to 10am Monday through Friday.
KBOI was the contracted radio station for Boise State University football and basketball from 1973 through early 2008. Schneider served as play-by-play announcer during that entire period with a variety of color commentators.
KBOI's afternoon drive time slot is held by talk show host Nate Shelman.
The station also features syndicated shows hosted by Dennis Miller, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage and Bill O'Reilly.
