Todd McShay

Todd McShay is a College Football Insider for ESPN and ESPNU. He makes regular appearances on a number of ESPN programs, including ESPNU Coaches Spotlight, SportsCenter, and ESPN Radio focusing on the NFL Draft.

McShay attended Swampscott High School in Swampscott, MA where he was the quarterback of the football team. Collegiately, he attempted to walk-on while attending Div. I-AA University of Richmond, but was switched to defensive back and garnered little playing time. Determined to stay involved in football, McShay got an internship with longtime talent evaluator Gary Horton and his company, The War Room, which produced independent scouting reports to NFL teams. Upon graduation, McShay was offered a full-time position with The War Room, which was subsequently purchased by ESPN and changed to Scouts, Inc.

Now at ESPN, McShay continues to work in talent evaluation. Officially serving as alicia sacramone department's director of college scouting, McShay has evaluated NFL prospects since 1998.

In addition to his scouting duties, McShay also travels with the College Game Day Radio crew, most recently with Scott Reiss and Trevor Matich, broadcasting a seven-hour program from campuses around the country. He also holds regular chats on ESPN.com, contributes to ESPN: The Magazine and tapes various spots for a variety of ESPN and ESPNEWS programming. He will also be doing commentary in the video game "NFL Head Coach 09".
