Koropi (Greek: Κορόπη) is a Greek village located 15 km east of
Volos in theMagnesia prefecture. Koropi is built on the slopes ofPelion . The older name of the settlement was known as Boufa (Μπούφα). Koropi is a settlement ofMilies and is in the municipality of a homonymous name. Its population in2001 was 785 for the municipal district. Koropi is located 22 km east ofVolos .Etymology

Geography
The mountains dominate the area which is parly forested and some grasslands and bushes, farmlands are within the village and it produces olives and other crops. The village is by the
Pagasetic Gulf .History
Koropi dates back to the
8th century BC and was a small city of the area which had the Temple ofApollo . Koropi later on was invaded in the mid-15th century by the Ottoman Turks which ruled the area until1881 . The town at the time was known as Boufa. TheGreek War of Independence did not saw the area annexed withGreece , it did not annexed the area until the liberation of Thessaly in 1881. Later, Boufa changed its name to its current name.About the village
Koropi is famous for its flowers which gorws in the area.
In recent years, the area is famous for tourism. It has an union related with horses.
