Kii class battleship

Kii class battleship

The "Kii"-class was a planned battleship design of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Planned in 1921, the first two vessels "Kii" and "Owari" would have been laid down in 1923 and 1922 respectively, and two un-named ships known as "No.11" and "No.12" were also planned. However, they were cancelled because of the limitations on building introduced by the Washington Naval Treaty.

The design was an improved "Tosa"-class design, itself an evolution of the "Nagato"-class. The class was to be followed by the Number 13 class battleship.
