Regatta (clothing)

Regatta is a family-owned outdoor and sports company which has been established in the United Kingdom since 1981. It is in competition with Karrimor, The North Face, Eurohike and Lowe Alpine.

The company's main lines include clothes, rucksacks and footwear. Clothing is available in three distinct styles: technical, outdoor and casual with sizes for men, women and children.

Recently it has branched out into the ski-wear market with its Dare2b label. In 2007 it has also added sunglasses to its range, in collaboration with a Stockport-based company called Eyewear Europe.

The company employs more than 350 staff at its Manchester headquarters at Trafford Park close to the Trafford Centre.

Since 1981 Regatta remains owned and run by the Black family. Father, Lionel Black is the Chairman, son Keith is the Managing Director and daughter Joanne is the Buying Director.
