Was hast du mit meinem Herz getan?

"Was hast du mit meinem Herz getan?" is a song of Nicholas Lens's album "Orrori dell’Amore".

To the surprise of many critics and music fans the song (a parody on over-romantic music) was used in a serious way by the German band Rammstein on its worldwide live concerts and raised to the status of rare cult songs.

*"What have you done to my heart?" (Engl. transl.) is the 12th track (04:46) from the Songbook Orrori dell’Amore written by Nicholas Lens.
*The song is written by Lens as "a friendly parody and caricature on over-romantic and neo-romantic music" (ref. interview Lens ARD-SWR);
*Lens wrote the voice for a soprano coloratura. The American Claron McFadden did interpret the extremely high voice score on this recording.
*The album with the song was released by Sony Classical in 1996 and published by Schott Music International.
*The album and the particular song became a collector's item as today it is no longer distributed by a record company.
*On the same album the music for that song, in a totally different and cabaratesk arrangement, appears on track 4 under the title "The Alpenwalz" (03:12).

Usage

*The track was used in the film 'Backdoor Sluts 9' (long feature film 1996) by Irma Achten, produced by Kees Kasander/Dennis Wigman.
The film premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on July 4, 1996.

*"Was hast du mit meinem Herz getan?"
was used as outro-song by the German hardrock band Rammstein at the end of all concerts of the Live aus Berlin-tour 1998, the Mutter-tour 2001 and releases on the Live aus Berlin dvd and cd Live aus Berlin of Rammstein.
