antifolk scene. He regularly records in collaboration withDeath in Vegas andDot Allison guitaristIan Button (also formerly of theThrashing Doves ).His debut album "The Misdiagnosis of Paul Hawkins" was released on AFUK Records in 2006. He has received UK national airplay on Radio 1 with his songs "I'll Be Getting a Divorce for Christmas", "I Fell in Love With a Moment in Time", "The Bigger Bone" and "You Can't Make Somebody Love You" and appeared on compilations for Cherryade Records, Jezus Factory Records and AFUK Records.
Live, Paul is regularly backed by Thee Awkward Silences, a collective of musicians including, amongst others, Ian Button, Tom Mayne (David Cronenberg's Wife), Alex Templeton-Ward (The Beat Maras), Niall Spooner-Harvey, Sarah Boweman, Kate Arnold and Lawrence of lunchrabia, Buz, Kuning. The band are renowned for anarchic live shows featuring costumes, cuddly toys, flowers and handcuffs.
