Due to its location on the north bank of the Chicago River, the building will feature a halfacre sunlit waterfront public garden with direct access to the river's edge.Green building

Hines has obtained LEED Gold pre-certification, which establishes the building as a major sustainable design development. The plan is to achieve LEED Gold Certification by incorporating environmentally friendly and energy efficient materials and systems. Located on the north bank of the Chicago River, 300 N LaSalle is breaking ground in pushing the downtown core further north into the River North neighborhood. The area has predominantly been low-rise turn-of-the-century (1900s) loft spaces that went from industrial, to residential & now new high-rise towers (both office & residential) are sprouting on the numerous parking lots that dot the area.
