- Kelvin Blake
Kelvin Blake (born 25 August 1971) is a former Labour Party Councillor on
Bristol City Council , in Bristol, England. He was first elected in 1997 to represent the Hengrove ward and then was elected to represent the Filwood ward in 1999 until he stood down from the Council in 2003.Kelvin was born in
Bristol and went to Merrywood Boy School in Knowle West. He is currently employed in IT as a Programme Manager.During his time on Bristol City Council he sat on a number of committees including Education, Planning and Regeneration. He was the Chair of the Regeneration committee between 1999 and 2002.
He remained active in the Labour Party after he stood down from
Bristol City Council running the General Election campaign forKerry McCarthy in the 2005 General Election. He also ran the local election campaign for John Bees, Labour Councillor for Kingsweston within Bristol, in 2006. Following this campaign, and two days after polling day, Kelvin was involved in a road traffic accident. His motorcycle collided with a car and he ended up breaking his back. He is now permanently disabled and a wheelchair user.External links
