Bruce Halliday

Bruce Halliday

Dr. Bruce Halliday, MD , CCFP (born 1926-06-18) is a former Canadian politician.

Born in Woodstock, Ontario, he was a physician before being elected to the Canadian House of Commons from the Ontario riding of Oxford in the 1974 federal election. A Progressive Conservative, he was re-elected four times in 1979, 1980, 1984, and 1988. He was the chairman of the House of Commons standing committee on human rights and the status of disabled persons.

Since retiring from office in 1993, he has been active with the World Crokinole Championships in his hometown of Tavistock, Ontario. He was also the 2004 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians.
