Lisa Wang

Lisa Wang (born September 24, 1988 in Madison, Wisconsin) is a rhythmic gymnast who has competed internationally. She began rhythmic gymnastics training in 1998, when she was ten years old. Her club is North Shore Rhythmics in Illinois, and her coach is Natasha Klimouk.

Lisa competed in the 2006 Baltic Cup in Gdynia, Poland, where she came third in the Ball event, fourth in the All-around, Clubs and Ribbon events, and fifth in the Rope event.

She has also taken first place in the All-around event at the 2006 and 2007 Visa Championship.

Lisa won the senior division at the 2007 Rhythmic Challenge in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a score of 58.350.

During the 2007 world championships (which serve as the 2008 Summer Olympics qualifier), she placed 28th and thus did not qualify for the Olympics (top 20 qualify). The United States Olympic Committee denied her application to apply for the Tripartite wild card spot, despite support from USA Gymnastics, thus removing her last chance to compete at the 2008 Olympics. Lisa Wang is also a hip hop dancer. She is attending Yale University in 2008. Her parents and younger brother have already settled in New Jersey, where Lisa will be living in the future. Lisa recently performed at L.A. Lights and placed 4th as all-around champion.
