Ubbalamdugu Falls

Ubbalamadugu Falls (also called Tada Falls or Kaamba Falls) is a waterfall in Buchi Naidu Kandriga mandal of the Chittor district in India. It is situated on the border of Tamil Nadu and Andra Pradesh, around 95 km from Chennai and 35 km from Srikalahasti. To reach here we must go through the village Varadaiahpalem, about 12 km away. There is a roadway up to 7km and then we go through the forest about 5 km.

It is also called as "Kaambakam" or "Sidduliah Kona".

Here there is a temple of Lord Shiva known as "Sidduliah" so it got the name as "Sidduliah kona". Many people visit this place on Maha Shivarathri and they stay for nearly one week. On these days we have transport services by APSRTC from the village Varadaiahpalem.

Best season is from mid October to Mid February of every year as it is the main rainy season there.

Tada is a relatively little known tourist destination. It is known for its waterfall (Locally called as Ubbalamadugu Falls), hillocks and greenery. It is ideal for hiking, trekking and picnics.

There is no accommodation available. We have to stay there in the forest. Don't travel alone to this place, especially if you are a woman. A group of four or five will be ideal. You can have a nice stay at Srikalahasti.

The tourists usually drive by road to the small town called Tada or from Srikalahasti then to a village called "Varadayya Palem". From this village, it takes ten minutes by road to reach the forest gate. The road is nothing more than a trail of boulders, potholes and the occasional muddy pool.

If you can reach the extreme end of the originating waterfall, you can really enjoy the beautiful falls, which fall from a height of 100 meters. To reach this point you have to climb so many small hills. There were some arrow marks which will help to reach the final destination. It will be around 4 to 5 km from the starting point where the first pool of water comes, but if you can go up to the extreme end you can enjoy the beautiful falls from a height of 100 meters as shown in the above images.

The top most views of waterfalls were taken in the month of September which was not the best season to visit.

Most of the people doesn't know much about this beautiful place. It is severely advised not to stay at night times in the forest.

SUVs and some high ground clearance bikes can go on this road. Small/Family cars should be strictly avoided! After a point, there is no place to drive. The road becomes a small narrow path in the thick jungle. Bikes and cars can be parked under a mango tree (quite prominent). From here onwards, the journey is close to arduous. You will have to walk. If you are slightly on the heavier side, it is advisable to continue further with utmost care. You may have fun swimming in the stream that flows here.
