Liscannor

Liscannor (Irish place name|Lios Ceannúir|Fort of O'Connor) is a coastal village in County Clare, Ireland. Lying on the west coast of Ireland, on Liscannor Bay, the village is located on the R478 road between Lahinch, to the east, and Doolin, to the north. The Cliffs of Moher are about 5 km (3 miles) west of the village. Between Lahinch and Liscannor lies the small village of Moymore.

Liscannor is home to many famous people including Johnnie Considine and Noel Kilmartin, both well known footballers. Liscannor is also noted as the birthplace of engineer and submarine innovator John Philip Holland.

Population (2006 Census): 71.
