George Gordon of Gight

George Gordon (14 November 1741 – 9 January 1779) was the maternal grandfather of poet George Gordon Byron and a descendant of King James I. He was son of Alexander Gordon (25 May 1716 – 24 January 1760) and Margaret Duff (20 December 1720 – 13 November 1801). He married Catherine Innes and had a daughter Catherine (Lord Byron's mother). He lived his life in Gight Estate, Scotland and died in Bath, England.
